My name is Debra Bachert but was previously Debra Youngman. I attended Chancellors School from 1975 - 1979 and am very, very keen to make contact with some of my old classmates. If anybody is out there, please email me!

First of all Id like to say what a great idea this is. Especially the newsletter updates from the school. These are always being 'mislaid'or given to me when the dates have passed!
I would just like to mention about the rubbish that is dumped continually in Bradmore Lane (the lane from Brookmans Park to Water End) We are fortunate to live in such a lovely setting, but why when I take my children for walks I have to explain piles of rubbish just dupmed at any opening available. Potters Bar dump is clean & available, & only 2 miles away!. We are forever blaming children for litter but its time the adults started setting a good example.

Having read your item about pay-and-prices for teachers at Brookmans Park Primary, the same sort of issues also apply to the recruitment/ retention of young staff at the Veterinary College (and to the rent levels for students seeking accommodation)....

I would like to know how I can help further over the change to Chancellors School admissions criteria. I am the
father of George Watson who will be in year 4 next year. I have written to the Schools Adjuducator to express
my concern, and have received a reply saying that they can only consider objections from a LEA or and
admissions authority, and otherwise from 10 or more parents within 3 mile radius. I have not had a chance to
date to contribute to any collective effort - I was unable to attend when the petition was presented to
Hertfordshire - but I ma very willing to do whatever I can to help. Please let me have a contact address or
phone number. I can also supply a copy of my letter to the Schools Adjudicator.

In addition to the concerns expressed by Jeremy Silverstone in his letter to the Schools Adjudicator I am
concerned that Chancellors may not have thought through all of the consequences of the proposed change.
What transitional arrangements might be put in place if they do go ahead to recognise the distortions which will
be caused by the fact that so many children have gone from BP to Chancellors in the past. The number of
children admitted as siblings may reduce the number of applicants in other categories from BP, so that children
other than siblings from BP may be at a disadvantage compared with those from other schools.

Admission by way of skill set or aptitude may encourage an overall improvement in the quality of pupils. the
current batch leave a lot to be desired, spitting swearing, vandalism and drug dealing to name but four regular
activities in and around the school before, during and after the school day.

Chancellor's Criteria Changes.

An emotive subject that has caused much angst within our own family let alone the community and it is very
hard to be clear as to what is trying to be achieved. My wife Lorraine and I both feel that the criteria put forward
is not that unfair but that to drop the 'Preferred Feeder Status' with such short notice is both unfair and
mystifying. Changes of this magnitude should be announced with a 5 year instatement buffer as people
sometimes plan their residency and working around Schools and their admission policy. Chancellors has
prospored to date from Brookmans Park and the Village atmosphere and it would be great to see this continue
in the new Millennium..

This is a superb site. I stumbled across it as I was trying to find out how my old school (Chancellor's) was doing. I finished sixth form there in 1991. Any other members of my year out there?
