Last Year North Mymms Parish Council decided to promote the production of a Parish Plan and the North Mymms Parish Plan Steering Group Committee was set up. This Committee has members drawn from various parts of the Parish and representatives of organisations operating within the Parish, including some employers.
The Committee has decided that local residents need to be consulted and you may already have received the small flyer sent out shortly after the Committee was set up when residents were asked to put forward five ideas for improvements to the Parish. You may also have seen members of the Committee at various events in the Spring and Summer of 2009 in Welham Green, Brookmans Park and Little Heath when they were seeking views of members of the Community. We have now reached the stage when we need to ask residents and businesses for more detailed views and suggestions and we should be very grateful if a member of each household could complete this Questionnaire.
You now have an opportunity to have a say in the future of Welham Green, Brookmans Park, Little Heath and surrounding areas. When the Parish Plan is completed, we shall have a document which can be used to influence the strategic direction of the Parish and various Public Bodies. Planning "at grass roots level" is much more likely to produce acceptable results for local people than planning imposed from above.
Over 50 of the 133 Rural Parishes in Hertfordshire have produced or are in the process of producing Parish Plans.
Please help us to formulate a useful and relevant Parish Plan for North Mymms by returning your completed Questionnaire. We can only improve our Community if we understand what people in the Community think.
