Station: security concerns raised Concern has been raised about security around the ticket office area at Brookmans Park station. At the moment the ticket machine and the permit to travel machine are both out of action due to vandalism. A correspondent to this sites Have Your Say section has welcomed the improvements being made to the station but has asked whether that refurbishment will extend to the ticket office area. Railtrack and WAGN have been made aware of the concern. Their response will be posted on this site. Brookmans Park Station is currently having its platforms resurfaced with improved drainage and block paving and by the summer will have two new waiting rooms on the London-bound platform and one on the Welwyn-bound platform. Some commuters have raised concerns in the past about the station entrance/exit suggesting they feel unsafe walking that way late at night. The issue was also raised at last years meeting of the North Mymms Residents Association when Railtrack Area Manager, Phil Heath, was the guest. Mr Heath subsequently arranged for shrubs and trees to be cut back to make the path less intimidating. However many commuters still feel unsafe walking along the path in the dark. Contact Railtrack and WAGN You can e-mail Railtrack directly at railtrack@brookmans.com or West Anglia Great Northern at WAGN@brookmans.com or you can raise any concerns in the 'Have Your Say' section of this site and what you write will be published immediately.
