The book is the latest work produced by the North Mymms Local History Society and includes images dating back more than 130 years.

The 62-page book, "North Mymms Pictures From the Past", is made up of 12 chapters and contains almost 120 previously unpublished images.

The book sells for just £2 (plus £1.50 postage and packing within the UK). Copies can be ordered from committee member Len Palmer on 01707 655333.

According to the society, part of the cost of producing the 1,000 copies of "North Mymms Pictures From the Past" came from the Heritage Lottery Fund and the North Mymms Parish Council.

The North Mymms Local History Society has also agreed that, as with all the society’s other publications, the book should be made available online for the benefit of all.

The photographs for the first chapter have now been scanned and reproduced on this site. When the work is finished it will be added to this site’s extensive history section.

All images have been heavily compressed to assist download speeds. The photographs in the actual book are much clearer and larger.
