Rail disruption until middle of month West Anglia Great Northern says rail services between Welwyn Garden City and London will continue to be disrupted until Monday November 13 at the earliest.
That is how long Railtrack says it will take to clear the line south of Hatfield following the fatal train derailment last month.
And there is a further warning from Railtrack that its nationwide rail repair programme, introduced following the Hatfield crash, could take until Christmas to complete.
WAGN is laying on a shuttle bus service between Brookmans Park and Potters Bar so that commuters travelling to and from London can connect with an emergency rail service however this is leading to lengthy delays – especially on return journeys when it seems there are not enough buses for the numbers of passengers disembarking at Potters Bar.
On Tuesday October 31 matters were made worse when flooding led to the closure of the Barnet rail tunnel . This meant that a second shuttle bus service had to transport passengers from Potters Bar on to New Barnet to connect to the rail service.
The two websites to keep checking for rail news are the emergency one set up by WAGN and Railtrack's site.
