Conservative councillor holds local seat Conservative councillor John Dean has held the seat of Brookmans Park and Little Heath in the local elections.
According to the BBC, John Dean polled 1,289 votes, the Liberal Democrat Catherine Edwards came second with 217 votes and Labour's Derek Marcus attracted 192 votes.
The BBC's 'Three Counties' site says the result came on a night when the Conservatives turned a two-seat deficit into a four-seat majority.
Previously the council was 'hung' with Labour holding 24 seats, the Conservatives 23 and one seat vacant. The Conservatives now control Welwyn Hatfield. Overall the Conservatives won 11 of the 17 seats being contested.
The BBC site claims the turnout was 35.3 % turn out compared to 32 % last time.
The Welwyn Hatfield Council site has a list of the three Brookmans Park and Little Heath councillors along with their contact details.
