Environmental action plan proposal
A brochure is being prepared inviting all residents of North Mymms to be part of a plan to enhance the local countryside for the benefit of all.
The latest meeting of the steering committee of the North Mymms Parish Environmental Action Plan (PEAP) has agreed to produce a leaflet to go out to all households in May.
It will contain details of the PEAP and a recommendation, put forward by the steering committee of local residents, for the production of a booklet containing six local walks.
The leaflet will contain the sketch of one of those local walk as a taster, along with details of two public meetings to be held in June where local residents can find out more about the PEAP.
The Countryside Management Service (CMS), which is promoting the PEAP project countywide, is considering organising stalls at both Brookmans Park Village Day and the St Mary’s Summer Fete in Welham Green.
Local communities that come up with proposals for a PEAP could benefit to the tune of £6,000, which can be used for enhancing paths and restoring styles and footpath signs.
Other grants are also available from the Parish Paths Partnership should North Mymms residents decide that paths are the worth investing in.
Other projects will also be considered. The distribution of the brochure and the two public meetings are aimed at gathering the ideas of local residents about what else could be done.
You can also discuss this issue and add your thoughts and suggestions about what could be done locally in a special thread on PEAPs in this site's forum.
