Public meeting on RVC's future
A public seminar takes place tonight, Thursday 20 March, to discuss plans for the future development of the Royal Veterinary College (RVC) Hawkshead Campus. The meeting, being held at 8pm in the dining room of Northumberland Hall on the Hawkshead Campus, comes as proposals, submitted by the RVC, are being considered by Welwyn Hatfield District Council (WHDC). WHDC posted a note in this site’s forum announcing that a master planning brief and outline planning application had been submitted by the RVC proposing new educational, clinical and residential facilities at the Hawkshead Lane campus. WHDC has extended the consultation period for the proposal beyond the normal 21 days. The authority says the plans can be viewed at the WHDC offices in Welwyn Garden City between 9am and 5.15pm Monday to Thursday and between 9am and 4.45pm on Fridays. All written observations should be sent to the Chief Planning Officer at WHDC by 25th April 2003. The RVC has published a brochure, setting out its plans for the future and has also released a drawing of the extent of the latest development plans. The RVC says all are welcome to attend the seminar, but more than 100 will put pressure on the limited number of chairs and space. According to the RVC, parking is available in the front car park. Visitors should then walk round to Northumberland Hall following the signs. You can discuss this issue in this site's forum.
