Local adult education classes announced
Brookmans Park WEA, or Workers' Educational Association, is inviting applications for its four classes running this autumn and in the spring.
Subjects cover literature, landscape, history and music. Courses range from 10 to 20 weeks and classes are either 90 mins or two hours long. All classes are held at Brookmans Park URC and the fees for the classes are as follows:
The Brookmans Park WEA is part of a nationwide organisation set up to support the educational needs of working men and women who have previously missed out on education. It is one of the UK’s largest charities with more than 650 local branches and around 16,500 members. The WEA believes that education is a lifelong goal and should continue beyond school, college and university in order to help people develop their potential in a democratic society. All members volunteer their time and efforts for the benefit of the WEA objectives. The Brookmans Park WEA is a branch of the Workers' Educational Association, which is a registered charity, No. 314001. The branch chairperson is Patricia Cook.
