Treasure Island theme for summer fete

Treasure Island theme for summer fete
Promises of pirates and treasure at Little Heath and a suprise guest at St Mary's
'A Treasure Island Adventure’ is the theme of one of two school summer fete taking place this Saturday.

Little Heath Primary School says it has 30 stalls lined up and visitors will be able to try their luck at the Panning For Treasure site, visit the Coconut Cove, have something to eat at Barbarossa’s BBQ and quench their thirst at Jamaica Inn.

The event, which is in aid of school funds, runs from 12 noon to 2.30pm.

Organisers say there will be lots of brightly painted parrots and Jolly Roger flags to help the theme along.

St Mary’s Primary School in Dellsome Lane, Welham Green, is holding its annual summer fair at the same time.

The attractions include steam train rides, two bouncy castles, tombola, lucky dip, beat-the-goalie, arena displays, scooter track race, face-painting and hair braiding. There will be a barbeque and other refreshments. The school promises a surprise celebrity at the event.

Gates at St Mary’s open at 12 noon and close at 3pm.
