Site fails to win award
The Brookmans Park Newsletter, one of the finalists in the New Statesman’s New Media Award 2003, has failed to win a prize this year. The winner of the 'Contribution to a Civic Society' category, which this site was nominated for, was Perfiliate Technologies. The winner of the 'Best School Internet Project (secondary)' was King Edward VI Camp Hill School for Boys. The 'Best School Internet Project (primary)' was won by Saint Ambrose Barlow School. The 'Best E-Government Project' went to the Essex Grid for Learning. The 'On The Move' award was won by Test Valley Borough Council and the 'Safety On The Net' award went to Kid Smart. Congratulations to all the winners. According to the New Statesman, the award, which is being run in association with SchlumbergerSema, focuses on how new media technology is used to make a difference in public life. The organisers say the key themes of this year’s awards are "innovation, efficiency and accessibility". The site has won the award once and been commended twice in 2002 and in 1999.
