Chancellor's admission policy debate

A debate is currently going on in the forum about whether the admissions policy for Chancellor's School, the local secondary school based in Brookmans Park, is fair.

The debate has come up after a poster to the forum pointed out that some local children who live in the village and attend the village primary school have been unable to get into Chancellor's. They have been offered places at Onslow St Audrey's School, which is based in Hatfield about four miles away. This is despite the fact that children from further afield have been able to obtain places at Chancellor's. The parents are reported to have set up a petition to try to persuade Chancellor's to think again and find places for their children.

As was reported on this site three years ago, Chancellor's changed their entrance criteria to give equal preference to children from 20 other primary schools in the area as well as Brookmans Park Junior School.

Chancellor's admissions policy is being discussed in the Forum.
