Snow closes many local schools

Governors at Chancellor’s and Brookmans Park Primary say the schools will be closed today, Friday, January 31, because of the snow.

The decision was reached following an afternoon and evening when snow brought chaos to Brookmans Park.

Many parents were unable to meet their children and some youngsters were forced to walk home, some as far as Potters Bar.

Lochinver and St Albans School for boys are also closed on Friday. The village was deserted on Friday morning at 7.30am when, usually, parents are dropping children off for the school bus services.
