Housing options go public Report by Bob Horrocks
Over the coming months, Welwyn Hatfield Council will be consulting on its Core Strategy - issues and options. The implication for North Mymms is new homes being built on local green belt land. The council is holding 'drop-in' events for local residents. The following information is from Welwyn Hatfield Borough Council’s website.
The 'Core Strategy Issues and Options' will be available to view from 4 March on the Welwyn Hatfield site. www.welhat.gov.uk. It will also be available at all libraries, Hatfield housing office, the Council offices in Welwyn Garden City, town and parish council offices (in Cuffley, Hatfield, Welham Green, Welwyn, Woolmer Green and Colney Heath) and Essendon Primary School. The ‘Issues and Options’ paper includes research and analysis of trends undertaken to date and findings from public consultation on the planning challenges. A summary and Guide to the Core Strategy Issues and Options will be produced to support the consultation. If you would like to be involved in the core strategy consultation, you can e-mail your details to planningpolicy (at) welhat (dot) gov (dot) uk or telephone the council on 01707 357532. Three public meetings are being arranged by North Mymms District Green Belt Society's (NMDGBS) in March and April. Click on the links below if you want to add comments about housing in your area.
You can also discuss the green belt and local housing in a discussion thread running in this site's forum. 22 February 2009 Please Note: The author, Bob Horrocks, is a councillor on North Mymms Parish Council and Honorary Secretary of the NMDGBS.
