A new feature has been added to this site, designed to help people discover more about the area's history.

'Ask The Archivist', is a thread in this site's forum offering people the chance to have an expert rummage through almost a thousand articles, photographs, pamphlets, and books charting the history of the parish of North Mymms.

Since this site launched six years ago, there has been a steady stream of requests, in the forum and via e-mail, for information about the history of the parish of North Mymms.

The North Mymms Local History Society (NMLHS) has responded to all requests by digging deep into its archive and finding books, articles, and photographs covering the issue being researched.

The result is that this site’s history section now has almost 20 complete books and around 50 features.

The NMLHS’s archivist, Marian Benton, has filed every item in the society’s collection and is happy to respond to individual requests for local information, not already published on the site.

So, if there is anything you want to know about the parish, you can now 'Ask The Archivist'. Your request will be passed on to Marian, and she will see what she can dig out. If we can obtain permission to reproduce the item online it will be added to this site’s history section.
