Welwyn Hatfield District Council has published a revised refuse collection timetable to cover the Christmas and New Year holiday period.

As in previous years, there will be no collections during the week commencing 27 December, but the refuse service will operate as normal on Bank Holiday Monday 3 January.

There might be a collection on Saturday 8 January to clear any excess rubbish.

WHDC says people should keep their waste in an easily accessible place on their property and not leave it on the roadside.

The council says every effort will be made to stick to the schedule. The waste services number for all enquiries or problems is 01707-357857 or 01707-357815.

Recycling collections over the Christmas period are as per the recycling diary card distributed to all homes.
