Christmas trees can be disposed of at council tips

Welwyn Hatfield District Council has published a revised refuse collection timetable to cover the Christmas and New Year holiday period.

WHDC says people should keep their waste in an easily accessible place on their property, and not leave it on the roadside.

The council says every effort will be made to stick to the schedule. The waste services number for all enquiries or problems is 01707-357857 or 01707-357815.

The Hertfordshire County Council Domestic Waste Site, off the A414 road from Hatfield to Hertford, is open daily from 8am to 4pm. The site will be closed on 25 & 26 December, and on 1 January. Enquiries 08457-425000

The council urges all residents to use local recycling centres to recycle paper, glass, and cans. Recycling enquiries 01707-357818.

All Welwyn Hatfield Council offices will be closed on Wednesday 24,Thursday 25, and Friday 26 December, and on Thursday 1 January. Emergencies can be reported to the Council on 01707-357800. This number will operate over the holiday period.
