Village to celebrate May Day
A maypole is being erected on Brookmans Park's Bradmore Green in the coming week in preparation for a traditional May Day celebration on Saturday 2 May. It's being organised by the Brookmans Park Rotary Club. Children from local schools have been invited to dance around the maypole, accompanied by local Morris dancers and musicians in what Rotary says will be a colourful and entertaining demonstration of dancing skills. Rotary says there will be stalls set up around the green, including tombola and face painting, and there will be a treasure hunt with hidden clues. The event gets underway at 2pm and all are welcome to join in. You can discuss the May Day celebrations in this site's forum. 24 April 2009
