Brookmans Park and Little Heath
Neighbourhood Watch Scheme Issue 1, 2009 Message from your neighbourhood PCSO, Louise Luxford
Burglaries have increased in the Brookmans Park and Little Heath area. This is typical for Christmas, the period covered by this report. Some of the burglaries were due to some properties being left unsecured, particularly at the rear, and leaving their houses unlit. Some residents left curtains open, displaying presents under the Christmas trees. Problems associated with vehicles around Bradmore Green have been dealt with by way of official police warnings. Repeat offenders will have their vehicles taken away. A number of parking tickets have been issued in Green Close due to inconsiderate parking. Some of these vehicles are parked in Green Close to avoid paying for the station car park. This will be regularly reviewed by police. Criminal damage and drug offences have remained at zero for the past six months. Fines and cautions have proved effective in combating these problems. The local parish councillor reminded the Crime Prevention Group that meetings are currently being held to discuss the local parish plan. The Crime Prevention Group has been invited to attend future parish council meetings. Hertfordshire fire Service is offering free safety checks if you call 0800 587 3347. We are still seeking a new area co-ordinator in the Little Heath area and this has now becoming urgent. New neighbourhood watch members in the Little Heath area are also needed. The parking situation in Hawkshead Lane remains an on-going issue. Crime figures for the period October to December 2008
