Brookmans Park
The crime rate in Brookmans Park has fallen for the fourth quarter running and crime for the year 2000 was down on the recorded offences for 1999. According to the latest newsletter from the Brookmans Park Neighbourhood Watch Scheme, there were a total of 120 offences for the year compared to 133 for the previous year. Community police office, Vojislav Mihailovic, says there has been a slight increase in house burglaries but a drop in burglaries from sheds and garages. PC Mihailovic has again urged local residents not to leave valuables on display in their cars and to lock and alarm them. He says that although this will not stop the professional thief, it will stop the opportunist. In his latest Neighbourhood Watch newsletter PC Mihailovic also warns of bogus door-to-door salesmen posing as water, gas or electricity officials. March 2001 Herts Police |
