Memorial Hall Celebration
« on: May 14, 2006, 09:16:52 am »
The parish council is planning a week of events to mark the golden jubilee of the North Mymms Memorial Hall, which is dedicated to the memory of the parish residents who died in the two World Wars. A special one-off 'festival team' will be set up to organise the 2007 anniversary events. Click here for more details.

This news item got knocked off the front page rather quickly due to other events, but that is life.

Just as a follow up, the parish council and the NM Memorial hall committee are keen to enlist the help of younger members of the community to give their energy and ideas to ensure that the Festival Week goes with a bang.  Although it is about 18 months off, in November 2007, it is surprising how long a lead-in time such events need.

The contact name and email address are given in the article linked to Dave's previous posting.

Hi Bob,

Sorry the story got bumped off the front. It seemed right to let people know about the mugging.

As for the contact details, they are in this story. Click here to read.

I'm not complaining.  It was obviously a more important event.

Bob Horrocks tells me that the letters have gone out looking for volunteers to help organise the Memorial Hall Celebration next year. Responses will be gathered soon and an update posted on this site.

Just a reminder, the North Mymms Memorial Hall Committee is planning a week of events to mark the golden jubilee of the hall, which is dedicated to the memory of the parish residents who died in the two World Wars. A special one-off 'festival team' is being set up to organise the 2007 anniversary events. The council is contacting many local organisations in order to create a festival team.
