Christmas Drinks
« on: November 17, 2005, 12:07:40 pm »
Hi All,

Being a glutton for punishment I am once again going to ty to organise some Christmas drinks for anyone who uses the forum.  As those of you who have come along before will know, this is a fairly relaxed affair with people turning up around 8 - 8:30pm and staying as long as they like.  It will be in the Brookmans Park Hotel (near the fire if the weather is like today...)

Before I set a date, could any of our members who reside on foreign soil (or sand or peat) please let me know, by replying here or individual messaging, with the dates they are in the country.  Us locals will then try to plan round you.

Thanks,
Aidan

Thanks for thinking of us.  Sorry, not coming home for Christmas.  Threw all my warm clothes out when I left the UK so cannot!!

If any forum users are contemplating a sunny Christmas in this part of the world, please let me know and we may be able to fix our own Christmas drinks, perhaps on a desert island in the Arabian Gulf rather in front of a fire.

Have fun.
Mary

Yeah, as Mary said, thanks for the thought, but I doubt if I will be over either. Nice idea though. I'd like an opportunity to match a few more faces and names.

Well we normally have a anti-Christmas meet in the summer, which is normally more popular with foreign-dwelling colleagues...

I'll be over in BP for some of December, but rather you didn't set dates around my availablility
as I will be flitting between BP & Oxford (where our son is) and am not sure of our timetable.
However, I'll keep an eye on the forum to see what date you decide.

Hi All,

I am going to suggest Thursday the 15th December for the drinks, since hopefully people will not have started going away for Christmas yet by then.  Starting at around 8:15 - 8:30pm in the Brookmans Park Hotel.

Hope some of you can make it.

Yours,
Aidan

Dear All,

Due to some unexpected work commitments, I may be late / unable to attend this evening.

My apologies,
Aidan

Hi All,

So sorry I've only just read this message, so obviously I couldn't make the Christmas Drinks! Hope you all had fun.

I will be coming back at the end of the summer for a week. Probably very last week of August, it would be lovely to say hello to everyone.

Happy New Year to all

Anna
