Interesting research into the WWI POW camp in Welham Green
« on: January 27, 2018, 07:19:34 am »
Local historian Mike Allen has put together an interesting piece on the prisoner of war camp built at Marshmoor, Welham Green in 1916. Apparently, the prisoners built it themselves using local timber. The feature has just been uploaded to our new history site, The North Mymms History Project. It includes rare images from Mike's collection Images of North Mymms. There were 216 held captive at the camp.
