College Lane - Urban Open Land
« on: April 03, 2002, 04:06:12 pm »
Apparently the open land between College Lane and the A1M in Hatfield has been purchased by the University (as has the bowls club as well). Does anyone know what plans the University have for this land - which is defined as Urban Open Land in tWelwyn Hatfield's  District Plan?

Have you tried asking the Hatfield Residents Action Group http://www.hrag.org.uk  - they might know!

I would make a wild guess that it might be to with linking the current campus to the new one - but that is only a wild guess....

In Feb 2002 Uni of Herts made a planning application for a site on College lane to build a 3 storey extension to the science, tech, and research centre.  This is on the NM Green Belt Soc website (link on home page click here)  under planning applications ref S6/2002/102/FP.  I can hardly see the Hatfield Bowling Club facilities being destroyed for this, so maybe it is a different site.  I have not seen the plans.
