Christmas Security
« on: December 16, 2010, 02:12:08 pm »
"Tis the season to be jolly...." and to remain that way there are some very simple precautions you can take to ensure you have a happy and safe Christmas. I apologise in advance as it is the same advice every year but it is important.

Please keep presents and valuables out of view
If you have a trusted neighbour or friends nearby, ask them to close your curtains and put your lights on when it gets dark
Ensure all windows and doors are kept closed and secure
Try to make your home look occupied at all times. Leave a radio on for example
Put your lights on a timer and if possible vary the times the lights come on
After Christmas, be careful about putting packaging outside and advertising the goods you have to passers by

By following these simple guidelines, you reduce the risk of becoming a burglary victim. Should you see anybody hanging around the village and looking suspicious, then please contact the non-emergency number on 0845 33 00 222 or if you suspect there is a crime taking place then do not hesitate and ring 999

I wish you all a very safe and Happy Christmas and a brilliant New Year!!
