Well done, Yvonne. I was last in Ho Chi Minh City in 1975 when it was called Saigon. It was a month before the country fell to the Viet Cong. It was beautiful then, I am sure it is now. The road to the border is wonderful. Was in Hanoi in November and realised what a dynamic and warm people the Vietnamese are.

Make sure you drink boiled water and don't eat vegatables or fruit you can't peel. Other than that, you will be fine.

Yvonne is setting off tomorrow on her trip to Vietnam and Cambodia to raise money for The Alzheimer's Society.

If anyone still wishes to sponsor her for this incredibly worthwhile cause please go to www.justgiving.com/yvonnetomlinson

This terrible disease can affect anyone, recently the media has covered the cases of Sir Terry Pratchett and John Suchet whose wife is a sufferer. The Alzheimer's Society provides support not just to the sufferer, but the people around them too.

Thank you to everyone who has donated already, it is really appreciated.

Yvonne has returned from her trip to Vietnam and Cambodia to raise money for Alzheimer's Society.

The trip was a success despite nearly 40 degree heat and high humidity.

A huge thank you to all the people who have already sponsored her for this extremely worthwhile cause.

Just to let you know that a total of £6680 has been raised by Yvonne in aid of Alzheimer's Society. This figure does not take into account Gft Aid so the total should be even higher.

Yvonne would like to thank everybody for their generous support for this very worthwhile cause. Special thanks to The Methi Golf Society and the North Mymms Scout group  for their fundraising in aid of Alzheimer's.

If you wish to look at photos and articles about the trip there are links at www.justgiving.com/yvonnetomlinson
