Mymms Drive accident

Does anyone know why the police closed Mymms Drive this afternoon? I passed about half an hour ago and there were no less than 3 police cars and 6+ police officers that had the road cordoned off.

A person/child on a bike was hurt and transferred to Hospital......I think they may have caught the person.

ROAD TRAFFIC COLLISION IN HATFIELD
By Corporate Communication Dept


POLICE are appealing for information and witnesses following a road traffic collision in Hatfield on Monday, May 5th.

The incident happened at around 2.30pm on Mymms Drive, Brookmans Park following a collision between a car and a child on a pedal cycle.

The child, a 9-year-old boy was taken to Great Ormond Street Hospital with serious head injuries.

The driver of the vehicle is alleged to have failed to stop at the scene of the incident.

Sergeant Peter Scholes of the Central Roads Policing Unit, said: I am appealing to anyone who may have seen this incident or knows anything about it to contact us as a matter of urgency.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Sgt Scholes or PC Karl Goulding in the Central Area Roads Policing Unit on 0845 33 00 222.
