Chewing gum and cigarette ends
« on: March 15, 2007, 08:30:11 pm »
From next month, anyone who stubs a cigarette end on the floor and leaves it there could face a fine of 50. The same goes for anyone who spits chewing gum on the floor. They are just two of the environmental crimes covered under the Clean Neighbourhood and Environment Act. Welwyn Council says it is determined to enforce the new laws. Click here for more details.

A good thing too.
It may sound like yet another move towards a police state, but if people respected this country then these fines would not be necessary.
We would all like to live in a cleaner environment.
