Local elections 3 May
« on: March 05, 2007, 03:29:15 pm »
Have you thought about becoming a Parish Councillor?  Local Council Elections will be held on 3  May 2007 and candidates can stand for election to all ten positions on the Parish Council.  Two existing Councillors will not be seeking re-election, one representing the Little Heath ward and the other representing Brookmans Park.  Almost all the Councilís activities are in the evening, usually on a Wednesday once or twice a month.  This enables residents who are working to participate.

You can contact the Parish Council to find out what is involved.  The phone number is 01707 268418.  The website www.NorthMymmsPC.ukf.net contains lots of information about what would be involved.  It also includes the audited accounts to 31 March 2006 and the minutes of all meetings since July 2005.

You can also contact the Election Returning Officer at Welwyn Hatfield Council on 01707 357000 but do it very soon because nominations must be made several weeks before the election.

Anyone wishing to be nominated for election must have the completed papers returned to Welwyn Hatfield Council by 4th April othewise it will be too late.

If all 10 parish councillor positions are not filled at the May election then the vacancies will be filled by co-option.
