Oak tree on Dixons Hill Road

   Sad to see the old oak tree on Dixons Hill Road, Welham Green being cut down today, it must have been several hundred years old. I wonder why? It did not look diseased to me and has not been dropping any branches.
The police used to regularly 'hide' behind it with their speed gun although I have not seen this
happen there for many years - they won't be hiding there anymore!

I saw someone tying a great big Yellow Ribbon round it!!!!

There has been a notice on the tree for sometime giving notice that it would be removed.
