Title: 3,000 images capturing the history of North Mymms
Post by: Editor on September 09, 2016, 08:48:17 pm
Over the last few weeks we have been publishing photographs on this site taken from a collection called Images of North Mymms. It's a project which was started by local historian and phographer Mike Allen, along with Sam Elgar, following the closure of the North Mymms Local History Society (NMLHS).

Currently, the collection is a two-volume set of CDs containing 2,000 images, which Mike continues to curate and manage. In a few months, volume three will be released, just in time for Christmas.

We've featured the images in a number of threads in this site's forum, including one about bus and rail transport in the '60s and '70s (http://www.brookmans.com/forum/index.php/topic,5419.msg40014.html#msg40014) and another about local door-to-door deliveries and collections (http://www.brookmans.com/forum/index.php/topic,5428.msg40065.html#msg40065) around the same time.

The CDs containing high-resolution digital images are available for sale;  more details here (http://www.brookmans.com/history/images_of_north_mymms.shtml).
