Note that the link doesn't work as it appends the exclamation mark to the URL - remove the '!' and it will take you there

John Fraser, I was sure I saw a reply here from you RE: Firefox  ???.

Anyway - I have now changed it so IE goes to the current page but other browser go to a page that should work for them.

Nice to see that you can comment on and name local shops at the Potters Bar forum. Shame we can't on ours as I think it would lead to a lot more members posting.

I don't think there is any law aginst you staring your own forum, which could use any rules you wish to define.

Hi Albert,

This site's policy is not to allow posts praising or rubbishing local businesses, including restaurants, because such a facility could easily be abused for commercial gain. It is particularly risky when people choose to post anonymously.

The site's editorial guidelines explain this. http://www.brookmans.com/guidelines.shtml, in particular the section about defamation http://www.brookmans.com/guidelines.shtml#defamation

Does anyone know what happened to the Potters Bar Forum? It was set up about nine years ago and I remember visiting from time to time and offering a bit of advice, but I see the URL http://www.pottersbarforum.org (http://www.pottersbarforum.org) is now inactive.  Sad if it has closed down. The other Potters Bar site, http://www.pottersbar.org (http://www.pottersbar.org) doesn't seem to have a forum.
