Hi David,
Could you provide a grid reference for the most convenient parking place, if you're travelling from Brookmans Park and wish to avoid Hatfield and WGC traffic? Thanks
Hi Nobby, sure, grid reference =
TL306124. To get there from Brookmans Park, just take the B158 north from Brookmans Park. Drive through Essendon and join the A414 Hertford Road, turning right at the roundabout and then head towards Hertford. Pass Cole Green dump, cross the next roundabout continuing on the A414. At the next roundabout on the outkirts of Hertford, turn left up Thieves Lane and then turn immediately left into the Panshanger Park, Car Park. Put this address into Google Maps.
Thieves Lane, Hertford SG14 2WN. Some grabs of maps below, and here is a map of the reserve to take with you.
As an ornithologist you might be interested in the reed beds along the Mimram between Riverside Lake and Kings Lake. There was some movement in there yesterday but I didn't have my binoculars with me.
