A garden city next to Brookmans Park - a 1911 sales pitch
« on: August 25, 2016, 02:49:33 pm »
Brookmans Park might have ended up on the edge of a garden city if the sales pitch on an auction brochure printed in 1911 had been acted upon. Leggatts Estate on the Great North Road was described as a "unique opportunity" for creating "a higher grade garden city" with its 3,000 yard frontage on The Great North Road. Read more by clicking on the link below and then scroll past the images to download a pdf of the original sales brochure containing the garden city idea.
