Interesting map site
« on: January 07, 2016, 02:15:02 pm »
Came across this map site recently

http://maps.nls.uk/geo/explore/sidebyside.cfm#zoom=15&lat=51.7242&lon=-0.1910&layers=6&right=BingHyb

Great feature where you can compare old and new side-by-side.

There has been a huge amount of development in the last 130 years !

Good find, and thanks for sharing. I wonder what it would have looked like had The Town and Country Planning Act of 1947 (which allowed local authorities to include green belt proposals in their development plans) not been passed.
The Brookmans Park Newsletter has been supporting the village and our local community since 1998 by providing free, interactive tools for all to use.
