House alarms.
« on: August 23, 2015, 09:05:51 am »
Police have had a number of calls from residents to house alarms sounding around the village. Police only attend monitored alarms which are paid for by the homeowners. If police are already in the area and hear an alarm sounding they will normally stop and check it out. If you have an alarm that is not monitored its a good idea to have a key holder such as a neighbour or relative who lives nearby who can check the property for you if the alarm is activated. Alarms are notorious for going of and can be activated by pets or curtains blowing if a window has been left ajar we could never attend to every alarm that goes of. I hope this clears up the issue for members of the public who have called in and been told by contact centre that we wont be attending.
