By the way, you can opt to 'save the file to disc' and make a copy on your computer so that you can view it whenever you want.

Have you got a Real Audio player installed, or another programme that can play that file type? You can download one from here:

http://www.bbc.co.uk/radio/audiohelp_install.shtml

If you have got Real Audio installed, it's possible it may not be set up correctly to work with your web browser. What happens if you double click on the small 'nm.ram' file that you have downloaded?

Just watched it over lunch with a colleague and found it really interesting. Found it hard to place some of the old buildings.  It would be nice if there were funds to add an update so there could be an ongoing history of the area and how it's changing over time.

Is it possible this can be resurrected?

I'd forgotten all about that page. I will investigate. Thanks for pointing it out.

Not sure what happened to those files, but I have managed to convert what was a real media file into an mpg file, but it's postage stamp size and rubbish quality. http://www.brookmans.com/history/nmymms56.mpg
Sorry about that. I guess we need to find the original VHS tape and start again. Not sure where that is.

I agree about the rubbish quality  :(

Presumably it is the same situation with the Hertfordshire History video?

Yes, they were old Real Media files and I have not tested them for years. I have removed both articles because of the broken links and because I am not sure I am going to be able to find the original tapes, transcode them and get them uploaded again. Thanks for pointing it out. David

That would be great. Even better if someone could upload them to YouTube and then we could embed them in the site.
