Bus fare increase
« on: January 16, 2005, 05:46:34 pm »
Not something that affects most residents who use their own form of transport.
At a time when the Government, Livingstone et al are telling us all to use public transport, i wonder how the bus company can justify the 20% fare increase on the journey from Cockfosters to PB.
1 is now 1.20.
Any one else care to comment.
regards,
jet

Didn't know the bus fares had gone up, only know that I frequently have to pick my son up from the bus stop in Hatfield when he is trying to get home because the bus didn't turn up!!! Hardly the way to encourage students to use the buses etc. rather than drive cars and thus cause parking problems.

Yes, completely outrageous  >:(.  The flat cash bus fare in London is now 1.20 up from 1.00 since the start of the year.  Regardless of whether you go 10metres or 1km.  I think it's disgusting.

However, I have been told if you buy an oyster card, then the fare is 80p.

I pay 1.20 to go 3 stops!!! I walk whenever I can and when it is light but these cold and dark nights are taking it out on my purse!! Even more annoying is the fact they cancelled two of the buses the other day...grr.... oh well...think happy thoughts....
