Three burglaries in Brookmans Park - police appeal for witnesses
« on: December 10, 2014, 10:22:53 am »
Police say there have been three burglaries in Brookmans Park in recent days.
  • The first was in the Great North Road Swanley Bar area between 2.30pm on Wednesday 3 December and 9am on Monday 8 December. Offenders removed items from unlocked sheds and forced a lock on a secured shed. Police say they got into the rear garden through a field. The crime number is B2/14/4468.
  • The second burglary was from a garage next to a house in Kentish Lane between 1.15pm on Saturday 6 December and 11.15am on Monday 8 December. Crime Number B2/14/4469.
  • The third was at a house Peplins Way between 3.30pm and 5.30pm. Thieves got in via an unlocked side gate and through the rear garden. Crime Number B2/14/4474.
PC Ross Freeman says if anyone has any information about these crimes they should call Herts Police on 101 and provide the reference number listed above. And he’s urging local residents to take extra care with their properties. “Ensure that windows and doors to your home - including garages and sheds - are locked at all times when not in use.  Please also make sure that side gates are padlocked to avoid giving criminals easy access to the rear of your home.”

I am now back of holiday and have noted these burglaries around the village. Once again I would ask residents to check the security of all sheds and outbuildings. If you have expensive tools and equipment please register them on www.immobilese.com and take photos of them. A security light can be inexpensive and could deter would be thieves. Fit the best lock and hasp that you can as thieves want to be in and out as soon as possible.
