Who painted the Brookmans Park station mural?
« on: July 21, 2014, 08:15:08 am »
I spotted this mural for the first time last night. Pity it's now got fencing in front of it. Does anyone know who painted it? Is it a First Capital Connect piece of work or was it done by a local artist?

Several things show this was done by First Capital Connect

  • Their logo is visible on the bottom
  • The same image is at Hadley Wood Station
  • The images aren't local, there generic London images.
  • It wasn't painted on the wall. It was painted (probably printed)  on a board and screwed to the wall. If it had been done without FCC's permission it would have been taken down. The artiest would have known this and painted directly on the wall.
  • No artiest would have put that much effort in and hidden it behind a fence.

When FCC lose the franchise expect the image to be taken down.

Thanks John, it was hard to see the detail taking a picture with a mobile phone from platform one. Your explanation makes sense. Pity, though, I thought we had a budding Banksy in Brooky Park.
