Bluebridge Road - Roadworks
« on: January 11, 2014, 02:46:35 pm »
Does anyone know how long the road works will take in Bluebridge Road? Only traffic is not only impeded by the temp traffic lights but cars parked on the road are also causing problems.

The Utilities companies have a permit for the road management until 14th January.

A useful web site for information on road works is http://roadworks.org/ If you put the post code or street name and area of the works in the search field, in this case Bluebridge Road or The Gardens you will see what work is going on. This should work for all planned works. It won't usually show emergency repairs. Click on the symbol or symbols shown on the map for that road and a box will open. Scroll down on the information box that pops up, there will be details on which company has applied to do the works and crucially contact telephone number(s) and which organisation has granted the permit. So next time you get caught in what you think are needless works, or you want to find out more information on their duration and purpose, I've found this really useful. Also, if for example, the traffic lights stop working, they stick on red, or the barriers are blown over, damaged or you see some other problem, you can go straight to the company, with their reference number and hopefully get any issue resolved quickly.
