Brookmans Park Village Day Saturday 15th June
« on: March 25, 2013, 06:16:10 pm »
With Spring surely just around the corner (she says optimistically...) we've been turning our thoughts to Village Day, the annual summer fete organised by Brookmans Park Primary School.

The theme is 'That's Entertainment' featuring 'Brookmans Park's Got Talent', a chance for the local children (big & small!) to showcase their talents, be they singing, dancing, magic tricks, impressions...the list is endless! Our intention, if we have time on the day, is to open up the competition, not just to the primary school pupils but older children and even adults - watch this space for details.

This year we are delighted to offer a Freedom Pass - £10 buys each child an unlimited number of goes on a variety of rides, including pony rides, fairground attractions and inflatables.

We are currently gathering this year's raffle & auction list & are always on the lookout for new & exciting prizes, so if you think you or anyone you know could help by donating a prize then we'd love to hear from you!

We would also be very pleased to hear from anyone who may like to be involved on the day by helping out, hiring a pitch or by sponsoring a stall or attraction.

Please IM me if youíre interested or email me at villagedaycommittee[at]gmail[dot]com.

Thanks,

Helen Coffer
on behalf of Brookmans Park Primary School PTA Committeee

Following on from my last post, if anyone aged secondary school age or older out there is interested in taking part in Brookmans Park's Got Talent at Village Day then we'd love to hear from you!

I'm attaching the entry form (it's aimed at the primary school pupils but just fill in the relevant parts!) - please either bring it into the school office clearly marked that you are NOT a Brookmans Park Primary School pupil or email the details to me at villagedaycommittee[at]gmail[dot]com & we'll be in touch with you nearer the time.

Assuming we don't have a huge number of entries in this category we may be able to break the 90 sec rule!

We look forward to hearing from you...

We are now delighted to announce our list of raffle & auction prizes so far! Buy raffle tickets for the chance of winning an iPad Mini, a meal for two plus a bottle of Prosecco in the Brookmans & many other lovely prizes.

In the auction on the day (to be held at 3pm in the bar area!), we have lots of lovely, unusual items such as the chance to fly in a Russian Yak, corporate hospitality at White Hart Lane with Gary Mabbutt or even afternoon tea or a private Zumba lesson in your own home (although we don't advise that you do them both at the same time!!).

And finally, in the meantime, check out the items in our on-line auction, which will be going live in the next week or so...

Thank you for looking!

Our Village Day On Line Auction will open at 5pm today.

We are delighted to announce our on-line auction for a few of the high value items or those of a specific nature that were originally offered for the Village Day raffle. This year we have over 30 items, ranging from archery and horse riding lessons to Hasbro toys and games.

Please take a moment to look at all the Lots currently on offer, people have been very generous with their products & services & it would be a shame to not get at least the minimum bid on them. It's all for a good cause & with low starting bids you could pick up some real bargains.

The Auction is hosted by Auction of Promises - Brookmans Park Village Day and you can also see and bid by following the link below

http://auctionofpromises.com/i.aspx?a=xvddg2b

The Auction will close at 11pm on Wednesday 12th June.  Happy Bidding!

If anyone has anything to offer for either our On-line Auction or our Live Auction on Village Day please let us know & we can add it to the list!

Thank you everyone!

Thanks to everyone who braved the truly appalling weather yesterday & came out to Village Day!

The bouncy slide turned into a water chute, the football was abandonned halfway through the afternoon & the teacups & swingboats had to be baled out on a regular basis! But the wonderful children & judges of Brookmans Park's Got Talent made it all worth it!

Thank you to all our helpers, stallholders & contributors for ensuring the day wasn't a total washout!

Helen

Photos of the day are now on the gallery: http://www.brookmans.com/forum/index.php?action=media;sa=album;in=21.

In spite of the unforgiving weather, we raised around £9,500 which we will be spending on new ICT equipment for the school. Thanks again to everyone who braved the rain!

Our Village Day Top Hat Summer School auction prize has become unexpectedly available! The details are as follows:

1 week summer school commencing 5th Aug, with a production of Beauty & The Beast at the end.

Held at Elm Court, Mutton Lane, Potters Bar.

Usual price: £100 for 4-5year olds/£150 for 6-17 year olds (or £130 if already a Top Hat student).

The winning bidder generously offered £100 on the day but has had to pull out due to unforseen circumstances - if you are interested in making an offer (starting bid £50 - that's just £10 a day!!) then please email villagedaycommittee@gmail.com with your bid, or alternatively IM me through this site or ring me on 07990 584910. The highest bidder will win or, if there is more than one highest bid, names will be drawn from a (top!) hat.

Closing date for bids: Mon 22nd July.

Thanks!
