Drinks at the pub
« on: July 15, 2004, 03:02:21 pm »
Dear All,

It's been a while since our last Newsletter get together, so I am stepping back into the breach to organise another night of drinks, nibbles and even dancing (if anyone gets drunk enough)...

I am going to suggest the Brookmans Park Hotel, 8pm on Thursday 5th of August.

Several of our more distant readers / writers are going to be in the country, so it would be nice if we could show them what a close knit lot we are by having a big turnout.  Bigger than last time would be good anyway...

Anyway, hope to see you all there.

Aidan

Shads,

I'd ask you to leave some money behind the bar, but as I've met you, I know how tight-fisted you are... ;D

Aidan, the national debt of Bolivia wouldn't be enough to cover your drinking habit,so i think i leave my money firmly in my pocket.  ;)
And i don't want Ariel coming after me for a tab you started in my name ;D

Sadly can't make it due to prior engagement - but maybe someone could post some photo's?? Perhaps we'd see jet and Aiden duelling over a game of shove-ha'penny - or maybe there'd be Agent Orange and Mary having a quiet peaceful conversation with John about 4x4's??  :)

As founder members of the BP temperence society, myself and Aiden will be demonstrating the effects of the demon drink by example. Any contributions of suitable imbibing materials wellcomed. I have invented a new cocktail, the 4wd special, it destroys the ozone layer. lol

Having been politicaly corrected and re educated I now consider myself a multi diversificational cosmopolitan member of the EU. I am in favour of the Euro, metric measurements the lot. This government is the best ever, it looks after all our member states interests and has our health and safety as a prime concern with its emergency plans. It makes one just so proud to be European. The sooner we concrete over La manche the better. This will allow free and easy access for 4wds and our less fortunate persons from the Eastern States to come on in. Trafalgar square should be renamed Bonaparte oblong and we won't mention the war because it never happened. I only drink Stella and French wine.
And if you believe that then mines a litre of Bitter :)

It was great to see those of you that were in attendance.

Now back in the real heat and humidity!!!

First task after I landed this morning was to pick up the 4x4 from the repairman who had knocked the dents out of it.  Opening for digs at lady drivers (and especially lady drivers who drive 4x4s ;D)

Aidan - where are the photos?

Cheers.

Hi Aidan,

Probably best for you to upload them to a site yourself and then share the web address here. All who want to can then click on the lkink and view the photos.

You can do this at http://www.fotopic.net for free. They let you have loads of space (250mb) and you simple upload from your browser. You can caption the pictures too, and anyone who wants them can either download them on their PCs or order prints.

Once you have done that, post the web address of your photogallery here and all can see it.  You can then add more if there are other similar events in the future.

Cheers

Dave

Alternatively you could drop the pics off and I could put them on the Brookmans Park Newsletter's fotopic site.

Hi Mary,

I am around all of thise days I think, but will have to check my diary at work (been on holiday!), would be great to meet up again.  I'll check my diary and then we can decide a date.

Usual drill - anyone who is interested in a drink please Mary or I know - usually meet around 7:30pm.

Also by reading the posts above I have realised I failed to put the previous photos on the site - I will do so this time!  Also Mary I'll put the previous photos on a CDR for you.

Looking forward to it.

Right - Thursday 5th of July it is.

7:30 - 7:45 in the BPH.  EVERYONE WELCOME - PLEASE MAKE AN EFFORT!!!  ALL THESE PEOPLE YOU'VE PROBABLY NEVER MET FACE TO FACE ARE ACTUALLY REALLY NICE!  EVEN JET!  (sorry Jet).

If you need to know who people are - I'm tall and slim - the spit of Brad Pitt; Mary is medium height, and the mirror image of Christy Turlington....

Actually, just ask Roger and he'll point us out.

Cheers,
Aidan

Closer to Ma in Bread than Christy Turlington ;), but as Aidan says - ask Roger.

Looking forward to see as many as possible.
