Police issue drugs appeal
« on: July 14, 2004, 03:43:20 pm »
Police have e-mailed this site asking for the publicís help in tracing a supply route for class A drugs in Welwyn Hatfield.

It follows the arrest of a woman whose car was stopped on the Great North Road, Hatfield, on Thursday 8 July. Police say numerous wraps of what is believed to be crack and heroin were found near the car. Officers became suspicious after observing the womanís actions and then searched the car and the surrounding area. The woman was arrested and charged with the possession of a class A drug with intent to supply. †

Police are keen to know who the woman was supplying drugs to and have issued a district-wide appeal for information. Anyone who thinks they can help the police is asked to contact Hertfordshire Constabularyís Crack Crime Drug Line on 01707 354695. All calls will be treated in the strictest confidence and you do not have to give your name. Alternatively ring Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.

BBC News Online has a page setting out the definition of class A of drugs.
