Defamation and the reason some posts are edited or removed
« on: October 11, 2016, 08:10:27 am »
Hi all,

A few posts have been removed or edited recently, mostly regarding local planning issues. This is not because of the issues raised, but rather about the way the issues were raised.

For the record, it's fine to question local authority decisions and seek clarification. Most posts have been just that; genuine attempts to find out the facts and understand the context in which decisions have been made. That's what makes a discussion forum like this so valuable; people can raise concerns and attempt to seek answers.

However when the character, integrity, and motivation of individuals is not only directly questioned but also enforced by allegations, we have to remove those personal references. Sometimes we will attempt to edit out the offending words and reinstate a removed post; at other times the post will be permanently deleted from the public forum.
