Live Below the Line
« on: February 19, 2012, 02:26:02 pm »
Hi all,

Between Sunday the 26th and Sunday the 4th of March I will be 'living below the line', only eating and drinking the equivalent of 1 per day to raise money for UNICEF. 'Below the Line' is an initiative created by the Global Poverty Project and UNICEF is a charity they are in partnership with, and I am taking part by living in 'absolute poverty' for a week to raise money to aid children and their families who live in slums across the world. (You can view case studies UNICEF is working on via their website). If you feel so inclined to donate money, you can do so via https://www.livebelowtheline.com/me/richardsutton11

Any donation from 50 pence to 2 to 20 would be much appreciated. Every penny you give is a penny more then before!

Many thanks,

Richard.

After a week full of temptations of the chocolate kind, my live below the venture is finally over! I took part to raise awareness and a bit of money for the 1.4 billion people living in absolute poverty in the world. If you wanted to donate, but haven't done so it's not too late!

By following the link you can access my fundraising page where you can make and size donate. Every penny goes towards a good corse!

Thanks to all those who have donated, you helped me battle on and your money is going to those who need it.   :D

Anything and everything helps! Each pound is a pound more then before; and remember, 1 can feed someone for a whole day!

A diet? I actually managed to loose weight, despite lots of carbs.

I'd be really interested to know what you eat and how you shopped.

When I've seen programmes saying how much food is thrown away - I find it really disturbing and unnecessary.

Well done on what you achieved.

The official date for living below the line has just passed. You will notice that I finished a while ago but I didn't think that it would be wise to live off 1 per day during my exam period. Thank you to all who donated to the corse, and for any who would like to be part of live below the line next year you should be able to sign up in February on their website.
