Aerial amplifer signal booster problems
« on: February 02, 2012, 09:26:26 am »
I suddenly have issue with the booster which is located in the loft. The exisiting system is a few years old and has been working fine allowing me to change Sky remotely via an "eye". As I have added more TV's, I needed a larger booster box. My aerial installer came along with a new VHF/UHF 2 In, IR pass for Sky which is fully screened. When he started to change the units over, he noticed that the heat coming from the inlet leads to the original booster box, were very "warm". He continued to change to the new unit, but once installed, it would not change Sky, so reverted to the old system for now.
He has been working in this area for many years and knows about the issues with radio masts. He thinks that maybe there have been some changes with these recently, which has given rise to the problems I now have. Anyone have similar issues and anyone have solutions? Thanks.
