Terrorism Operation
« on: May 06, 2004, 03:48:59 pm »
This site has just received an e-mail from Herts police to say that officers are carrying out a ‘high visibility anti-terrorist operation’ today (Thursday), as part of an ongoing campaign to ‘keep the county safe’.

The mail says the operation will involve police officers from Operational Support and Area, including Armed Response and the Dog Unit, attending Welwyn Garden City, Hatfield and St Albans train stations to carry out searches and provide information to members of the public, warning them to continue to be vigilant.

The message says there is no specific threat to Hertfordshire, but the county’s rail lines include the major routes into London and to Gatwick and Luton Airports.

Flyers will also be handed out encouraging everyone to report any suspicious activity to the police.
