Dear Watch Member,

Instead of dressing up as a ghostly ghoul or wicked witch, young people aged between 13 and 21 are invited to take part in the biggest gaming event in Welwyn Garden City this Monday (October 31).

FiFA 12 tournament will be played on a giant 35 foot screen at the Electronic Digital Gaming Experience at Roller City in The Campus in Welwyn Garden City from 5.30pm to 10pm. The event is free.

It follows the success of a pilot event in August, organised by PCSO Jean- Pierre Jacquet with support from the Welwyn Hatfield Community Safety Partnership.

"The pilot was so successful, we decided to run another event - this one is even bigger and will be even better," said PCSO Jacquet. "Young people said they wanted another event, so we thought it made sense to set it up on Halloween, to give young people a choice on how they spend next Monday night.  Why not bring your children down for a top night, which includes the Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare Multiplayer Tournament, although places are limited for this tournament.

"We also have a gaming rig, 2000 watt sound system, games consoles from the last decade and full nightclub style lighting system.  We also have huge prizes including XBOX 360's, Playstation 3 as well as loads of other gear to give away."

Parents, family and friends and welcome to come along and view the events in the spectating areas.

Anyone can come along to the event, however to participate in the Call of Duty tournament, participants will need to complete a flyer and return it to either Game, Gamestation or the Co-Op in Shoplands by Friday (October 28, 2011). There are still spaces available on the Call of Duty tournament but not many - the maximum number is 224 players!

The event is officially sponsored by Nintendo and Sony Playstation and Sony Playstation and Microsoft XBOX representatives will be there on the night.
