By Corporate Communication Dept

POLICE are appealing for witnesses and information after a road traffic collision yesterday (January 9) in Brookmans Park where a man in his 50s was seriously injured.

It happened at just after 8am on the Great North Road, the A1000, in Brookmans Park. The man, driving a Blue Citroen Berlingo came off the road and collided with a tree.

No other vehicles were involved and there was no one else in the vehicle.

The driver, from the Potters Bar area, was airlifted to the Royal London Hospital and is described as being in a critical condition.

Closures were put on at junctions with Wildhill Road, Dixons Hill Road and Woodside Lane and remained in place for around 4 hours.

PC Matt Hollingsworth, investigating from the Collision Investigation Unit, said: “This was a serious incident where a man had to be airlifted to hospital with serious injuries.

“We are keen to speak to anyone who may have been in the area at the time of the collision or knows anything about it.”

Anyone with any information should ring PC Hollingsworth via the non-emergency number 0845 33 00 222.
